Privacy policy

The short version: Printablesmith has no accounts, sets no cookies, and the words you type into the makers stay in your browser.

What you type

The makers run entirely in your web browser. The words, names and settings you enter are used on your device to build the preview and the PDF. They are not sent to us or stored by us.

When the bingo caller reads calls aloud, it uses only voices built into your device, never online voices, so the words are not sent anywhere.

Your settings are kept in the page address (the URL) so that “Copy link” can bring back the same sheet. Anyone you share that link with can see the words in it. Page addresses can also appear in your browser history and in the technical logs described below, so avoid putting private information, such as a child’s full name with their school, into a link you share.

What is collected when you visit

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and gives us only totals, such as page views and countries, not information about individual visitors.

When you download or print a PDF, the site adds one to a count for the page you made it on, so we can see which makers and themes people use. Only that page’s address without your words (for example /word-search/dinosaurs/), the date and whether you chose Print or Download are kept, nothing about you or the sheet you made.

If a maker stops working in your browser, the site reports the error so we can fix it. The report holds only the page’s address without your words, the kind of error, the first line of its message with anything you typed taken out, the date, and your browser’s family (such as Firefox or Safari), never the full browser details. It is counted like downloads, without your IP address, cookies or anything about the sheet you made.

We do not sell or share personal information.

Cookies and storage

The site does not set cookies.

To save you choosing them again, each maker remembers a few display settings in your browser’s local storage: paper size, letter case, large print and similar choices, never the words, names or titles you type. “Start over” on a maker forgets its settings. The bingo caller also remembers how far your last few games have got, so a refresh does not lose them: the order of the calls and how many have been made, not the words.

The site always opens in light mode. If you switch on dark mode, your browser remembers that one choice, so every page opens dark until you switch it off.

When you download or print a sheet, its link is added to “Your recent sheets”, a list of your last 10 sheets on the home page and on each maker, so you can make one again. The link holds the sheet’s title, words and settings, never the student names typed for a class set. You can remove a sheet from the list or clear it at any time.

All of this stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can also be cleared in your browser’s settings.

Advertising

The site shows no ads at the moment. Before any advertising is added, this policy will be updated to explain what the advertising partners collect and how to choose what you share.

Children

The site is meant for adults, such as parents and teachers, who make materials for children. It does not ask anyone for personal information and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because we hold no accounts and no personal details, there is usually nothing about you for us to show, correct or delete. If you have a question about your information, or want to use a right you have under data protection law, write to [email protected].

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
