Twelve clocks at 5-minute times, such as 2:05, 7:25 or 10:50. The minute hand points straight at a number, so children count by fives from the 12. Every clock has a tick for each minute, ready for the next step.

Ideas for using these sheets

  • Write 5, 10, 15 and so on around the outside of a clock for the first sheet.
  • Remind children that the 1 on a clock means 5 minutes when the long hand points to it.
  • Read the hour hand first, then count the minutes, and say the whole time aloud.

Every setting can be changed above before you print, and “New problems” makes a fresh sheet as often as you like.
